A dog's emotional reaction to 'The Lion King' on TikTok earns him viral status.
Millions of people watched an Ohio student's TikTok video of them watching a live-action Disney movie.
Have you ever wondered what your pet was thinking?
Winston, Gabrielle Pelfrey's beagle from Dayton, Ohio, is easily expressive of his emotions.
For six years, Pelfrey has been the owner of Winston, who was just eight weeks old when she adopted him. Since then, Winston has always been her "sensitive little guy," as she described him to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Winston's sensitive side specifically comes out when he's watching certain movies.
Pelfrey sat by Winston's side with the TV on while Winston was recovering from a sickness as a puppy.
Winston would engage with what was being shown on the screen, Pelfrey noticed.
The Disney live-action version of "The Lion King" in 2019 elicited a strong response from the child, and Pelfrey portrayed the amusing scene.
In the video that has gone viral, with over 7.5 million views on Pelfrey's page, Winston seems to become saddened during certain emotional moments in the film.
Pelfrey had to restrain Winston from leaping towards the movie's villain as he barked furiously.
Winston's response to the movie in the TikTok video resonated with some social media users who commented on the video, stating that they could relate to his feelings.
"One user stated that it's the thing preventing him from attacking Scar, to which Pelfrey responded, 'He was determined to tear the screen off the wall.'"
Another TikTok user remarked, "We'll never truly understand the level of awareness in our dogs."
The Disney TikTok account posted a comment saying, 'Exactly how we watch the movie too,'
Winston's fascination with Pelfrey's beagle was typical, but after posting videos of her dog on TikTok, she realized that not all dogs behave the same way.
Winston's funny response to movies was initially unbelievable to Pelfrey's dad until he witnessed it firsthand.
Now, on TikTok, she loves recording Winston's reactions and sharing them with her friends and family.
Winston enjoys more than just "The Lion King," as he also loves "101 Dalmations," "Beethoven," "The Grinch," "Moana," and "Homeward Bound," Pelfrey stated.
"He always loses it at the end of 'Homeward Bound.' It seems like he gets more emotional or has a bigger response if it's a live action performance," she said.
Winston, in addition to his other abilities, can sense Pelfrey's emotions and provide her with comfort.
"Pelfrey stated, "If I return home and it's a challenging day at work, he will curl up beside me." He added, "He's incredibly perceptive. He's a unique individual.""
Winston brings happiness to people, including Pelfrey and her husband, just as he does for her.
