A bird flies into a woman's car while she's driving on a country road.
A woman's car becomes a rooster's new home after it flies in.
A bird flew through a woman's car window in the UK and settled comfortably in her vehicle while she was driving on a country lane.
According to SWNS, Jessica Mathews saw a rooster on the side of the road while driving along a country lane in Aston-on-Trent, Derbys.
The bird landed in the passenger seat of her Ford KA and refused to exit.
The woman tried to lure Barry, the nickname for the rooster, out of the vehicle while he "munched its way through" her shopping haul, according to SWNS.
Before rehoming the lost animal, Mathews decided to rescue him and bring him to her house.
She posted a video of the amusing incident on Instagram, featuring the bird clinging to her window, sitting inside her car, and perched on her shoulder. (Watch the video at the top of this article.)
"She said he didn't want to get out of the car. I was trying to nudge it out, and then suddenly he was sitting on the passenger seat."
No veterinarians wanted to take the bird, as "he wasn't my pet."
She said to SWNS, "I thought, 'Now I have a chicken.'"
No veterinarians were willing to take the bird because "he wasn't my pet," and she thought, "I'm going to have to take him home and my boyfriend is going to kill me."
Mathews shared on social media that he was driving down a country lane, heading home, with his window down, when he swore to God that a chicken had just flown into his car window. He wondered what he should do.
Additionally, she penned, 'To be honest, these things only occur to me. There's a farm nearby and I'm heading over to verify if it's theirs. It also happened to bite me.'
"I've got some pecan nuts and some raspberries from my food shop, and we're going to try and get him out of the car."
She gave another update in a different clip, stating that he did not belong to the people on the farm and nobody was answering there. As a result, they were going to investigate if he lived up here.
She added, "He seems quite happy, except for the s--- on my car seat, so that's great. We are going to the next house."
That endeavor wasn't successful, however.
"It was really hard to give him away, actually."
After contacting vets and animal rescue centers, a man in Castle Donington, Leicester, offered to rehome the bird the next day, according to SWNS.
Giving him away was difficult, Mathews admitted, because he was so pleasant. He was a delightful bird, he added.
