A $100,000 cash prize is being offered by Ring cameras for their 'Great Ghost Search' video competition, which coincides with Halloween.
Over 2,000 customer video submissions have been received by Ring since they started their eerie search.
Ring cameras are helping to kick off the "Great Ghost Search" just in time for Halloween and trick-or-treating door-to-door. Those who submit unedited videos of what they deem to be mysteries of the unexplained during this spooky season may be entitled to a $100,000 cash prize. Video submissions can be "funny, frightening, fashionable," or "all of it." Ring has already received over 2,000 customer videos since announcing the competition began on September 23. To qualify, video clips must be 30 seconds or less and captured on an existing Ring device. Meanwhile, Halloween movie lovers can road trip along the East Coast to these creepy sites. Some customer video submissions were shared with Planet Chronicle Digital by Ring, and we leave it up to the viewer to believe it or not. In a video captured from a Los Angeles home, a ghostly figure appears suddenly in-frame and appears to move a drink to the floor of their patio.
The homeowner stated, "I am not aware of any specific haunted history, but I do hear creaking noises up and down the stairs at night sometimes. I believe it is paranoia that makes me think the normal house creaks sound like steps."
The preschool owner in Colorado believes in ghosts after witnessing strange events, including flying books and spooky fridge finds, and capturing a ghost on video.
A video of a "ghost" was recorded on a Ring video doorbell in Tampa, Fla. during Hurricane Helene's school break. The customer stated, "This is the tale of the amusing ghost of 13-year-old Bronson. On the 25th of each month, he appears at our Ring doorbell and the music played by big brother Barratt on piano accompanies him as he dances."
The Florida customer stated that they observed the individual only emerges during rainfall and appeared today while waiting for Hurricane Helene. He believes he is cunning, but it is evident that he is enjoying himself while on Hurricane Break. Furthermore, he believes that his efforts will result in winning a wild cart and a college education.
The competition's official judges are Finn Wolfhard from Stranger Things and paranormal investigator Katrina Weidman. Videos are evaluated based on four criteria: the ghost's visibility or clarity, the uniqueness of the entry, the entertainment value, and engagement. Submissions must be entered by November 1, 2024, at 11:59 pm or when 5,000 entries are submitted, whichever comes first.
