Pioneering technology

K1, the original Forerunner, demonstrated Kepler's advanced technology, including proprietary planetary roller screw actuators, intelligent dexterous hands, and the Nebula AI system. Standing at 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 187 pounds, K1 was designed to compete directly with other leading humanoid robots in the market.

The next generation: Forerunner K2

Kepler has launched the Forerunner K2, the fifth generation of its humanoid robot technology, which has been optimized for commercial use in various industries through software and hardware improvements.

Advanced features and capabilities

The K2 boasts 52 degrees of freedom throughout its body, enabling natural and fluid movements. Its rotating and tilting head module, along with enhanced arm and leg rigidity, improves its functionality and maintenance.

The K2's hands are one of its most impressive features, with each hand capable of supporting up to 11 degrees of active and passive freedom and being able to carry up to 33 pounds. The fingertips are equipped with sensor arrays, each containing 96 contact points, allowing for precise object manipulation and tactile sensing.

The robot's artificial intelligence has been enhanced through a combination of embodied intelligence software, imitation and reinforcement learning, and a cloud-based cognitive model.

The K2 robot's autonomous performance and effective cooperation with human operators have been enhanced by these advancements in gait planning and control algorithms, resulting in improved stability and walking speed.

Commercial applications and future prospects

Kepler has identified the Forerunner K2 as a suitable option for various sectors, including intelligent manufacturing, warehousing and logistics, high-risk operations, and research and education. The company has already initiated an evaluation of the K2's performance in customer facilities, where it is being utilized for materials handling, sample processing, patrol and inspection, and quality control tasks.

Kepler aims to make its humanoid robots accessible to businesses with an estimated retail price range of $20,000 to $30,000. The company plans to commence mass production of its humanoid robots in the second half of 2024, positioning itself at the forefront of the industry.
