A convenient and accurate hearing test

The AirPods Pro 2 employ advanced Active Noise Cancellation and in-ear seals to create a controlled environment, similar to a mini sound booth within your ears.

The hearing test utilizes pure-tone audiometry based on advanced acoustic science, playing a series of tones that you respond to by tapping the screen. Helpful animations, tap-back effects, and progress indicators guide you through the experience, which takes approximately five minutes. Over 150,000 real-world audiograms and millions of simulations were used to develop this accurate, fast, and easy hearing test. In just five minutes, you will receive a personalized report on your hearing.

  • Customize your Hearing Assistance settings by tapping Hearing Assistance in your AirPods settings.
  • You can access options and sliders to further adjust the Hearing Aid feature by tapping on Adjustments.
  • By default, Media Assist enhances the clarity of music, phone calls, and FaceTime conversations.

Advanced hearing protection

The new Hearing Protection feature from Apple is designed to protect your ears from loud noises in daily life. It actively adjusts to sudden loud sounds, providing hearing protection in noisy environments such as concerts or during your daily commute. What's impressive is how Apple has combined a hearing test, hearing aid, and noise protection into one seamless experience.
