Faith leaders assert that dads have a significant influence on a child's life.
This Father's Day, three faith leaders imparted the core values of parenthood.
This year, faith leaders across the country discussed the significance of fathers in their families for Father's Day with Planet Chronicle Digital.
Here are some enduring comments about Father's Day.
‘One of the most important factors in life’
According to Tim Clinton, president of the American Association of Christian Counselors, regardless of age or gender, we all look for our dad's presence and influence in the stands and consider it a significant factor in our lives, positively or negatively.
Clinton stated in an email to Planet Chronicle Digital that dads have a significant influence on a child's life through their actions and words, as well as through their omissions.
"If we were able to address the fatherlessness problem, our children would be better equipped to handle peer pressure, less likely to engage in substance abuse, more confident in their gender identity, and less likely to experience mental health issues."
To the fathers present, your children see you. See you at the game," said Clinton, quoting Malachi 4:6, "And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children and the hearts of the children to their fathers.
‘Only person in the world’
Pastor Jesse Bradley of Auburn, Washington, spoke directly to dads on Planet Chronicle Digital, emphasizing that although others may be capable of performing tasks at work, replacing them on a weekend men's league team, or serving in their place during volunteer work, no one else can ever replace them as the father of their children.
Bradley, who runs Grace Community Church and is a dad, emphasized the importance of cherishing and prioritizing that special role.
Bradley advised dads to enjoy their kids and connect with them daily. He suggested listening to their fears, finding meaningful activities, giving wise advice, making memories together, reading the Bible, opening up their hearts, attending their games, going on trips, and trying out their best dad jokes.
He added, "God will be with you throughout your journey."
The profound joys of fatherhood result from being grateful and intentional as a dad.
‘Essential to society’
Ancient pagan civilizations recognized fatherhood by immortalizing their gods as male, according to Alex McFarland, a youth, culture and religion expert from Greensboro, North Carolina.
He stated, "I believe societies that undervalue fathers will ultimately face their downfall, as they failed to comprehend the importance of men in society."
A stable, enduring, morally sound, and economically resilient society requires fathers, he said.
