Brides are surprising their husbands on their wedding day with a new look inspired by a viral TikTok trend.
Brides are making headlines on social media with their dramatic transformation.
A new TikTok trend has emerged, where brides undergo a significant transformation following their wedding vows.
Here's how it works.
Before the reception, the bride will have a hairstylist cut off a significant amount of her hair.
In August 2022, Jaydon, a 23-year-old Colorado resident, married his wife, Kelsee Elkins.
On her wedding day, she had 6 inches of her hair cut off, thanks to her aunt and friend, who are both hairstylists.
Elkins shared with Planet Chronicle Digital via email that one of her favorite parts of their wedding was her midday makeover, which she believes took approximately 20 minutes to complete.
Elkins knew she would have her hair cut on her wedding day to signify a new chapter in her life, as she got the idea from seeing another bride do it online.
Elkins performed an impromptu "second look" with her husband after the chop, showcasing her new dress and hairstyle.
The grand entrance at our reception was even more thrilling because I got to enter looking like a completely transformed bride. Guests were highly impressed with the new look and showered me with compliments.
Elkins stated that she was not sorry about the haircut and it turned out to be a great change on her special day.
On her wedding day, Olivia Lopez, a 27-year-old labor and delivery nurse from Edmond, Oklahoma, decided to cut her hair.
Lopez informed Planet Chronicle Digital via email that the haircut took only 30 minutes, despite allocating 45 minutes for it.
While guests were being served dinner, Lopez and her husband had a private meal with her hairstylist to complete her wedding day look.
"Since then, my husband has always told me that he loved my short hair, and I do not regret my decision at all! It was so fun to do," she wrote in her email.
Brides should plan their wedding day haircut efficiently, as recommended by Lopez.
In November 2023, Jennifer Barefield, a 30-year-old insurance industry worker from Southeast Texas, got married in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
During her wedding reception outfit change, she decided to cut her hair after thinking about it for months.
Barefield stated that his hairstylist was not only a friend but also a hairdresser who would ask him every 30 minutes starting at 8:00 a.m., "Are we cutting it or what?"
From the start, Paige DeSorbo served as my inspiration, and five espresso martinis fueled my motivation.
Her husband was so stunned by her second wedding dress reveal that he overlooked her new haircut.
"She was in complete shock since she had 18 inches more hair about 20 minutes prior," she said.
Barefield stated that she took all possible measures to accelerate her hair growth in preparation for the wedding.
"As soon as the ceremony ended, I craved and needed a chop!" she wrote in an email to Planet Chronicle Digital.
Barefield advised that since hair grows back, brides should enjoy experimenting with different haircuts.
