Bestselling author and life strategist Tony Robbins has announced that he and his partners in The 100 Billion Meals Challenge have secured commitments to provide 30 billion meals to combat global hunger in just two years of the program's existence.

On Giving Tuesday, an announcement is made, as Robbins has committed to matching most donations, including those from individuals and groups.

"On Giving Tuesday, if someone donates a dollar up to $2 million, Robbins will match it, doubling the impact of the donation."

David Beasley and Robbins are currently leading an initiative to provide 100 billion meals to those in need over the course of 10 years. The program is currently progressing ahead of schedule, according to Robbins.

In the video at the top of this article, Robbins disclosed his personal connection to the global issue of hunger.

Robbins, who is now based in Florida with his wife and children, stated that he grew up in a challenging environment as they didn't have any money.

"Despite having four different fathers who were all good men, they all lost their jobs at different times. Additionally, when I was 11 years old, our Thanksgiving was challenging as there was no money or food in the home. We only had saltine crackers and peanut butter to eat, but it was still Thanksgiving."

Robbins described his childhood as a time when his parents were frequently arguing, with each other yelling or blaming one another. He also mentioned having a younger brother and sister who were five and seven years younger than him, and he was concerned about ensuring they didn't hear the arguments.

"We had saltine crackers and peanut butter. But, you know, it was Thanksgiving."

He exclaimed, "A knock at the door!"

The man was carrying two large bags of groceries and had a frozen turkey on the ground beside him. He asked, "Is your father here?" I replied, "Just a moment."

Robbins stated that the stranger was providing his family with an incredible Thanksgiving meal solely out of kindness, and as someone from a family with limited resources, he felt thrilled, said Robbins.

"I believed that this would be the most enchanting experience."

His dad reacted negatively to the offer at the door.

"He gazed upon that individual and stated, "We do not permit charity.""

Robbins recounted an uncomfortable exchange with his father, which culminated in a moment he'll never forget.

The man implored, 'Sir, please spare your family from suffering due to your ego.'

""I remember seeing the veins on the side of my dad's neck when he turned bright red. I thought he was going to punch the guy in the face, but he just dropped his shoulders and set the food down," said Robbins."

"I believed that strangers cared about me and my family. And then I wanted to care about strangers."

Robbins stated, "I was excited until I couldn't comprehend my father's behavior. He didn't take care of his family, and he left us a few days later. That moment was one of the toughest in my life, but it was also the best because there was food."

He said, "I developed a different belief after that experience as a boy. I believed that strangers cared about me and my family, and I wanted to care about strangers."

Robbins stated that he aimed to feed at least two families when he turned 17, and the following year he accomplished this goal by feeding four and then eight families.

Through my foundation and my wife, we were able to help two million people.

Over time, he significantly enhanced his relationships and the number of partners involved in the project.

We collaborated on this project with Beasley, who was previously with the World Food Programme. The National Pasta Association, International Pasta, Feed My Starving Children, Manna Nutrition, the government of Dubai, and Global Citizen are all involved. With Global Citizen's platform, we can reach even more people. It's not just me; together, we can accomplish great things.

No child should die of hunger anywhere in the world, as he stated.

In America, Robbins stated, "I'm doing another billion meals. Despite being the wealthiest country, we still have 40 million people, including children and the elderly, who are food insecure. This is unbelievable. We must take action."

The number of people experiencing acute hunger has increased to 730 million due to the pandemic, according to Robbins and his team, resulting in a sharp rise in global hunger.

Over 30 million individuals are at risk of starvation.

"I think that I suffered that way so that others wouldn't otherwise."

According to Robbins, his hard work is a result of his upbringing and the suffering he experienced. He believes that if he had not grown up hungry or suffered, he would not work as hard. However, after experiencing so much suffering, he feels a strong desire to prevent others from suffering. When he travels to different parts of the world, including areas where people are food insecure, he sees that they do not have enough food.

Seeing a child who is starving in a world that is abundant is a horrific thing, and once you have experienced it firsthand, it becomes impossible to forget.

Robbins stated that there are two types of motivation in life: push motivation, which involves forcing oneself to do something, and pull motivation, which is driven by a calling and a sense of purpose. Robbins believes that he experienced pull motivation in order to inspire others who may not have otherwise found their purpose.

Seeing the joy in people's eyes when food is brought to them reminds him that it's not hard to keep his passion going. It's more than just food; it's about people caring for one another. People are no longer alone, and he believes everyone can play a role in this.

Robbins noted the health benefits of giving to others.

"Studies demonstrate that helping others triggers a biochemical change in you. Even a small act like buying coffee for the next five people in line at Starbucks can cause a more significant and long-lasting chemical change than typically occurs when you get something for yourself. It's amazing."
