Trudeau labels himself a proud feminist after expressing disappointment over Harris' loss to Trump as a setback for women.
Last month, Trudeau had a discussion with Trump about the possibility of Trump imposing extensive tariffs.
On Tuesday, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau declared himself a "proud feminist" while expressing disappointment over Vice President Harris' loss to President-elect Trump in the 2024 presidential election as a recent setback for women's progress.
In Ottawa, Canada, Equal Voice held a gala, and Trudeau gave a speech.
"Trudeau stated that despite the challenges, we were on a steady path towards progress. However, the recent US election saw the rejection of its first woman president for the second time."
"Women's rights and progress are being attacked, both openly and covertly, everywhere, Trudeau stated. He emphasized that he will always be a proud feminist and will always stand as an ally for women, both personally and through his government."
As tensions rise between the U.S. and Canada over immigration and the influx of illegal drugs into the U.S., Trudeau's comments add to the growing conflict.
On Nov. 29, Trudeau arrived at Mar-a-Lago without prior notice, only days after Trump announced plans to impose tariffs on Canadian goods. Trump has threatened to impose 25% tariffs on both Canada and Mexico due to their failure to control the influx of illegal immigrants and drugs into the US.
Both Trump and Trudeau called the meeting "very productive."
Sources later revealed that Trudeau had informed Trump that imposing the tariff would devastate the Canadian economy. In response, Trump questioned whether Canada's economy could sustain itself unless it was exploiting the US to the tune of $100 billion.
Sources told Planet Chronicle that Trudeau and others laughed nervously when Trump proposed that Canada become the 51st state.
