Three people, including an Israeli police officer, were killed during a shooting spree in the West Bank, according to reports.
Palestinian terrorists are being hunted by the Israeli military.
On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged to apprehend the "loathsome killers" responsible for a recent terror attack in the West Bank, which resulted in the deaths of three Israelis, including a police officer.
According to The Times of Israel, Elad Yaakov Winkelstein, an off-duty Master Sgt., and his sisters-in-law Rachel Cohen and Aliza Raiz were killed by gunmen who opened fire on vehicles in the Palestinian village of Al-Funduq.
The Jerusalem Post reported that the attack injured eight people, including a 63-year-old bus driver, and the Israeli military is searching for two suspected shooters linked to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist group.
"Netanyahu wrote on X, "Our deepest condolences to the families of the three people killed in this morning's horrific attack. We wish the injured a full recovery. We will bring the despicable murderers to justice and everyone who helped them. No one will be spared.""
The Press Service of Israel reported that an eyewitness described the attack as a "shooting spree."
"I witnessed a Palestinian man remove an M16 from his back window and aim it at passing vehicles. It was then that I realized it was an attack," he stated. "As the vehicles turned around and chaos ensued, I realized they were heading straight for me. I quickly began firing at them to protect myself."
The eyewitness stated, "As a civilian with my own private gun, I believe that if they had been given an M16, their situation would have been different."
The Jerusalem Post reported that a paramedic from Israel's Magen David Adom emergency medical service stated that the attack involved multiple scenes where vehicles and a bus were hit by gunfire.
"Avichai Ben Zuria stated that during our initial searches for casualties, we discovered 2 women in a vehicle who were unconscious without a pulse or breathing, with gunshot wounds. About 150 meters away, there was an unconscious driver who also sustained gunshot wounds. After medical evaluations, unfortunately, their injuries were severe, and we had to declare them deceased."
According to the Jerusalem Post, Winkelstein is in his 40s, while Cohen, 73, is a school counselor and mother of five children. Additionally, Raiz, who is 70, is also a school counselor, the outlet stated.
According to the Associated Press, Hamas issued a statement commending the attack.
