In the Shimoga district of Karnataka, where numerous other stunning waterfalls are located, including Jog Falls, the tallest waterfall in India was featured in a video shared on Facebook by the Geography Zone account.

Kunchikal Falls are formed by the Varahi River, with the water flowing into the Mani Dam reservoir. The construction of the Mani Dam, which produces hydroelectric power, has significantly decreased the water flow at the falls, as stated by Karnataka.com.

During the rainy season, from July to September, Kunchikal Falls offers the best views as water flows rapidly.

Access to the waterfall has been restricted due to the construction of the dam. A special gate pass is required to enter, which can be obtained at Hosangadi village.

You can reach Kunchikal Falls by car, public bus, taxi, or bus from Udupi railway station.

Though hiking may be an option, you should anticipate a lengthy journey to reach your destination.

According to AllTrails.com, the hiking trail is 6.7 miles and starts near Hosanagara, Karnataka.

The hike, which is 6.7 miles long, is considered moderately challenging and takes approximately two hours and 55 minutes to finish.

If you don't want to hike, mountain biking is another option.
