On Thursday morning, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Palestinians both claimed that the IDF killed a prominent Palestinian battle commander.

During a counterterrorism operation, the IDF announced the death of Palestinian terrorist Muhhamad Jabber, also known as "Abu Shujaa."

""Abu Shujaa," the head of a terrorist network in Nur Shams, was eliminated during counterterrorism operations in Tulkarm after being involved in numerous terrorist attacks, according to the IDF's statement on Thursday."

In June, Amnon Muchtar was killed in a deadly shooting, and the IDF stated that Jabber was involved.

The Palestinian Islamic Jihad's media office, which is classified as a State Department designated foreign terrorist organization, released an obituary statement on its Telegram channel.
