Hungarian Foreign Minister recalls positive experience with the Trump administration, stating that "our hope is all" on the former president.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjártó stated in an interview with Planet Chronicle Digital that former President Donald Trump is his country's "only hope" for bringing stability to an unstable and chaotic international security environment.

"According to Szijjártó, the U.S. presidential election, particularly if President Trump wins, could be the game changer in the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He believes that Trump has the capability to end the conflict with just two phone calls."

""Only President Trump has the hope to do this," he insisted."

Szijjártó stated that "We are not Americans, so we cannot say we prefer this or that" when asked about a potential preference for a second Trump administration.

"We can confidently state that politics is based on experience, and we have a clear understanding of President Trump's term in office as well as the experience we have from the time the Democrats were in power," he stated.

According to Szijjártó, the U.S.-Hungary relations have been at their best during President Trump's term, considering both the U.S.-Hungary relations and the global security situation.

Trump and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán have openly displayed their close bond, with Trump praising Orbán as a "tough leader in Europe" who highly regards Trump.

Orbán demonstrated the mutual dynamic when he opted to depart the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., to meet with Trump in Mar-a-Lago in Florida to discuss foreign affairs.

"President Trump had everything under control, but since he left office, the global security situation has deteriorated, as Szijjártó stated."

"Based on our experience, we believe that President Trump would bring a new impetus, freshness, and dynamism to the U.S.-Hungary relationship. If President Trump is elected, we think the world has a good chance to become a more peaceful place compared to the current situation."

According to Szijjártó, if an administration is led by a president and vice president and the vice president has not initiated many projects, it suggests to him that the vice president was fully integrated into the structure. He emphasized that this viewpoint was based on logic and not the opinion of the Hungarian foreign minister.

Hungary has positioned itself as a chief facilitator for resolving the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, while assuming the presidency of the European Union as part of a rotating six-month structure.

Orbán visited both Putin and Zelenskyy shortly after becoming Hungary's prime minister, but European leaders emphasized that the trip was purely ceremonial and that Hungary had no official role in any peace negotiations.

The Hungarian prime minister, Szijjártó, attacked those who criticized the Hungarian effort, stating that "the pro-war politicians have been the ones criticizing us and our peace mission."

"Szijjártó stated that it is inconvenient for those who do not like the existence of a country, government, and prime minister in Europe who speak directly, honestly, and are not bound by the liberal mainstream, as they are there and taking action."

Szijjártó opposed the notion that Ukraine should join NATO, stating that "incorporating Ukraine into NATO would place us in a highly vulnerable position, security-wise, as it would mean that NATO could be easily drawn into a war against Russia at any time, which is something we do not desire."

He stated that a direct confrontation between NATO and Russia would lead to an immediate outbreak of a Third World War, and our purpose in joining NATO is to enhance our security, not to put ourselves at risk.
