Despite a cease-fire agreement with Israel, Hezbollah terrorists are smuggling weapons into Lebanon, the Israel Defense Forces alleged on Saturday.
Avichay Adraee, the IDF Arabic Spokesperson, stated on X that fighter jets from the Air Force, under the guidance of Military Intelligence, targeted military infrastructure near the Syria-Lebanon border crossings. These attacks were carried out due to Hezbollah's use of these locations to transfer weapons from Syria to Lebanon.
The raid was carried out after detecting the transfer of Hezbollah combat equipment from Syria to Lebanon, despite the cease-fire agreement, which poses a threat to Israel and violates the terms of the agreement.
On Saturday, the cease-fire between Israel and Hezbollah has been ongoing for four days. Although some Israeli troops remain in southern Lebanon after an October ground operation, they are required to withdraw within the next 60 days under the terms of the cease-fire agreement.
However, Hezbollah’s militants still appear to be active within Lebanon.
On Saturday, Adraee reported that several gunmen had arrived in the southern Lebanon region and loaded RPGs, ammunition boxes, and other military equipment into a vehicle. Shortly after, an IAF aircraft attacked the vehicle.
Hezbollah's missile production infrastructure in Lebanon was targeted by an Air Force aircraft, according to the official.
On Saturday, Adraee stated that Israeli troops discovered combat gear in a mosque utilized by Hezbollah members in southern Lebanon, and the troops seized it.
Images of rifles and grenades reportedly discovered at the scene were shared by him.
He declared that the IDF is deployed in the southern Lebanon area and will enforce any violation of the cease-fire agreement.
