On Thursday, Israel announced that it had killed Hamas' top military commander, Muhammad Deif, during a July strike.
On July 13, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a strike in Gaza, targeting two top Hamas leaders, including Deif, who the IDF said was the mastermind behind the Hamas-led attack on Israel on Oct. 7.
According to two Israeli sources, al-Mawasi was the target of an Israeli strike today, which killed Mohammed Deif, the top military commander of Hamas.
There was no confirmation of Deif’s death until Thursday.
On Tuesday, Israel announced the killing of Fuad Shukr, a high-ranking Hezbollah commander in Lebanon. On Wednesday, reports emerged that Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas, had been assassinated while in Tehran, Iran.
