Despite allegations of fraud, the Venezuelan Supreme Court has ruled that Maduro is the legitimate election winner.
It is widely believed that Nicolás Maduro, the Venezuelan President, won the election through fraud, securing him another six-year term.
The Venezuelan Supreme Court has ruled in favor of President Nicolás Maduro, stating that online voting tallies showing he lost the election by a landslide were false.
The decision was announced in a packed courtroom, in response to Maduro's request to review vote totals, which showed he had won by more than 1 million votes.
The court's ruling that the election results were valid contradicts the findings of experts from the United Nations and the Carter Center, who were invited to observe the election and determined that the results announced by authorities lacked credibility.
The main opposition coalition has accused Maduro of trying to steal the vote.
Officials from Venezuela's government have stated that the delay in vote counting and publication of election results on election night was caused by a cyberattack carried out by hackers from North Macedonia. However, they have not presented any evidence to support their claim.
Gabriel Boric, Chile's leftist president and a prominent critic of Maduro's election fraud, condemned the high court's validation.
"Venezuela's TSJ has consolidated election fraud, according to a tweet by a user. The Maduro regime is enthusiastically welcoming the ruling, and there is no doubt that we are facing a dictatorship that falsifies elections."
The latest effort by Maduro to suppress protests and criticism following the disputed July 28 election, in which he sought a third, six-year term, was reported by The Associated Press.
Last month, Maduro was widely believed to have won his country's election fraudulently, with many regional governments casting doubt on the official vote tally, which showed him with 51.2% of the vote and 80% of polling stations reporting.
The opposition claims to have won the election with 70% of the vote, while the results show a different outcome.
According to Isaias Medina III, a former U.N. Security Council diplomat and Harvard Mason fellow, the judicial system in Venezuela, which is an occupied territory of the Axis of Evil, is essentially non-existent due to the complete absence of the rule of law.
"When Chavismo seized power, the system of checks and balances was dismantled, resulting in courts with unqualified personnel who are loyal to Maduro and his regime. These courts are a mere puppet show, controlled by Maduro, who pays their salaries."
Summer polls consistently showed Edmundo González leading the opposition candidate by double-digit margins.
The AP reported that González was the only one of ten candidates who did not participate in the Supreme Court's audit, and the justices accused him of trying to spread panic in their ruling.
Elvis Amoroso, the National Electoral Council President, declared that Maduro received 51% of the vote and González received 44% support, based on 80% of voting stations, indicating an irreversible trend.
In Venezuela, socialists have completely dismantled the separation of powers for the past two decades, with Maduro holding control over the executive, legislative, electoral, and judicial branches, as was the case in the former Soviet Union.
"The crisis in Venezuela began in the 2000s when former President Hugo Chavez, who passed away in 2013, filled the Supreme Court with loyalists. In fact, there are videos of Supreme Court judges singing songs associated with the Venezuelan Socialist Party. This highlights the fact that the crisis in Venezuela cannot be resolved through the country's institutions, as they are entirely loyal to Maduro and have contributed to the political crisis we see today."
Although Maduro was declared the winner for a third term, the opposition asserted victory, leading to a confrontation with the government regarding the election results.
The Biden administration's policies were criticized and condemned by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla.
"The Biden-Harris administration's foreign policy has resulted in another fiasco, as they lifted sanctions on Maduro and released his top money launderer and two convicted drug dealers in exchange for a promise of fair elections monitored by neutral international observers."
After Maduro was declared the winner of Venezuela's presidential election, officials and lawmakers in the U.S. and other countries raised concerns about the legitimacy of the election results.
Congressional leaders from both parties claimed that Maduro's election was fraudulent.
No one was surprised that dictator Nicolás Maduro stole another presidential election. But what the narco-regime will never steal is the Venezuelan people's desire to return to democracy and live in freedom after decades of tyranny.
"It is crucial that we prioritize the unification of the free world in rejecting these fraudulent election results and securing the release of the more than 300 Venezuelans who are being held arbitrarily in torture centers as political prisoners."
The Biden administration has "serious concerns" about the results of the Venezuelan election, as previously stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken, who emphasized that they do not "reflect the will or the votes of the Venezuelan people."
Demonstrations erupted nationwide following the revelation last month.
Peaceful protests by Venezuelans against a rigged election turned violent when police, clad in riot gear, intensified the situation.
The police used tear gas on the crowds, prompting them to disperse, while protesters threw stones at the police.
Venezuela's President Maduro rejected criticism of his election victory as an attempt to stage a coup, stating that "we have seen this movie before and will not tolerate any weakness." He emphasized that Venezuela's laws will be upheld.
