Biden Cabinet member appears in photo with one of Farrakhan's top lieutenants at DNC event.
Farrakhan is my heart, said Terence Muhammad.
The head of President Biden's EPA was photographed with a top aide of notorious antisemitic leader Louis Farrakhan, who has likened Jews to termites and called them "Satanic."
"I had a fantastic time attending an event with My Environmental Justice Squad, My Political/Social Justice Squad, and HBCU LOVE, all while being in Chicago," Terence Muhammad, the lead events and field coordinator for the Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit Hip Hop Caucus, shared in a now-deleted Facebook post last week, accompanied by a photo with EPA Administrator Michael Regan.
The EPA Administrator of the President's Cabinet is an AGGIE, he stated.
Planet Chronicle Digital previously reported that Muhammad's social media profiles contain pro-Farrakhan posts and the Hip Hop Caucus, which aims to combat injustice and bring about change, has played a role in shaping key Biden administration policies.
Lennox Yearwood, the President and CEO of Hip Hop Caucus, who was also seen with Regan and Muhammad, previously referred to Muhammad as one of Farrakhan's "top soldiers" and thanked Farrakhan for allowing Muhammad to be part of his organization.
"Minister @LouisFarrakhan allowed one of his top soldiers [Muhamad] to be with me during #MOW50. Much love to the NOI," Yearwood wrote in a 2013 post, referring to Farrakhan's Nation of Islam.
"Louis Farrakhan, thank you for your love."
In a 2014 Facebook post, Muhammad shared a photo of Yearwood and Farrakhan with the caption, "I am that I am(The Good) because I was introduced to a man named the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan and a Life-giving teaching from the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad. I can move/help my people like I do because of Rev Lennox Yearwood, CEO/President of the Hip Hop Caucus. I work for these great men."
"Louis Farrakhan gave me life and Rev Yearwood gave me a lifestyle through @HipHopCaucus to serve our people. I am so grateful," Muhammad wrote in 2017 with the same photo.
The Hip Hop Caucus denied any involvement with the Nation of Islam in a statement to Planet Chronicle Digital, despite social media posts suggesting otherwise.
"The Hip Hop Caucus and Rev. Lennox Yearwood Jr. do not have a relationship with the Nation of Islam and condemn the anti-Semitic statements made by Louis Farrakhan, a spokesperson stated. As a multi-platform organization, Hip Hop Caucus focuses on the rights of Black, Brown, Indigenous, and Queer individuals in their voting rights, racial justice, and climate and environmental justice work. They believe in building strong, collaborative relationships with like-minded communities who share their values and goals."
Since Biden took office, White House visitor logs indicate that Yearwood has visited at least seven times, with six of those visits occurring in 2023. In their most recent visit, Yearwood and two other Hip Hop Caucus officials, Tanya House and Cynthia Swann, were hosted in the West Wing for a private meeting with White House Domestic Policy Council adviser Sofia Carratala.
In a 2021 speech, Regan described Yearwood as a "close companion."
The EPA spokesperson, Timothy Carroll, defended Regan's partnership with Yearwood, stating that the EPA values the work of the Hip Hop Caucus and Reverend Yearwood in advocating for environmental justice. He also condemned any hate or prejudice directed towards any group or individual based on their religion, race, or background.
In March of this year, when Planet Chronicle Digital questioned Carroll about his connection to one of Farrakhan's top soldiers, he almost verbatim stated what he said. After Planet Chronicle Digital contacted the EPA and Hip Hop Caucus, Muhmmad's Facebook post was deleted shortly thereafter.
In April 2015, Muhammad shared a photo of Yearwood with Malik Farrakhan and the Fruits of Islam on social media during a protest against police brutality.
The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) have both heavily criticized Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam, labeling Farrakhan as an "antisemitic" leader and classifying the Nation of Islam as a "hate group."
Muhammad, whom Yearwood referred to as a "dear brother and friend" in 2020, has a history of praising and raising money for Farrakhan and the Nation of Islam.
In a March 2018 post, Muhammad stated again that he loves Louis Farrakhan and considers him to be his heart, as seen in the included picture of them together.
Besides Regan, Muhammad shared photos with other DNC attendees, including Al Sharpton, who has a history of associations with Farrakhan, and Tamika Mallory, who has praised Farrakhan and attended events with him.
Mallory was criticized for stating that Farrakhan was the greatest of all time due to his contributions to Black communities. She later confessed to attending multiple Saviour's Day addresses, including one where Farrakhan declared "the powerful Jew is my enemy."
