A new text message is reportedly showing that Hunter Biden proposed a meeting with his father, uncle, and a Chinese executive in New York City.
A former Hunter Biden business associate has accused them of lying to the American public.
The House Ways and Means Committee's newly released messages suggest that Hunter Biden proposed a meeting in New York City between the head of a Chinese energy company and Joe Biden, the former vice president, as well as Joe's brother, Jim Biden, at the time.
"Would it be possible to meet early this evening," Hunter Biden messaged Yadong Liu, CEO of CEFC Global Strategic Holdings on Dec. 12, 2017.
My father will also be in New York and he wants me to attend the Sandy Hook memorial service with him. He would like me to introduce you to my uncle, and then we can discuss further. Is that possible?
"I apologize for the late notice, as I got off the red eye flight from LA to Baltimore and took a brief nap before receiving his message," Hunter stated.
Hunter was informed by Yadong that "No problem" and he requested to be notified of the "when and where to meet."
Yadong received a message from Hunter Biden less than two weeks after the proposed meeting among the four individuals. Hunter expressed his eagerness to receive Yadong's report from a meeting in China.
Yadong apologized for not responding promptly, explaining that he was still in China and had been aware that Kevin had been in touch with Gongwen Dong of CEFC China Energy.
Although I did not have the opportunity to meet the chairman on this trip, President Chen instructed me to inform you that, given the current circumstances, it is nearly impossible to advance any projects with you. In the upcoming weeks, there are several critical dates that we must focus on resolving legal challenges. As a result, we must prioritize these matters and cannot take any actions that may be misinterpreted or misconstrued.
"Yadong expressed his hope that you would comprehend their situation and eagerly anticipates resolving any legal ambiguities. He also mentioned that he would return next week and be available for a face-to-face meeting if necessary. Thank you."
The White House, Jim Biden, and Hunter Biden's attorney did not respond to Planet Chronicle Digital's inquiry about the meeting in New York City.
The former Hunter Biden business associate criticized the Biden family in a statement to Planet Chronicle Digital about the exchange between Hunter and Yadong, stating, "This is a clear demonstration of their deceit and falsehoods."
The former associate added, "Another instance of them openly deceiving the American public."
On the day after the proposed meeting, Hunter's uncle emailed him with "Yadong" in the subject line, but the context remains unclear. A Town & Country Magazine profile piece and photos from a gala match up with the time frame of the elder Biden being in New York City on the evening of Dec. 12, 2017.
A photo of Yadong's business card was included in a document released by the House Ways and Means Committee, in addition to the messages between Hunter and Yadong.
In March 2014, Yadong was appointed as the CEO of CEFC and was also named as the general manager, as per a 2016 Securities and Exchange Commission filing.
"Mr. Liu began his career in the Chinese Foreign Ministry as a diplomat and a top interpreter for Chinese leaders. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language & Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University, a Bachelor of Laws degree from Beijing Foreign Affairs College, and a Ph.D. in Political Science with a concentration in International Political Economy from Columbia University."
The Chinese Foreign Ministry is responsible for managing diplomatic affairs on behalf of the state and government, as well as handling diplomatic activities between Communist Party of China leaders and state and foreign leaders, as stated on its website.
Joe Biden has previously met with a top executive at CEFC, as revealed by his former business partner, Rob Walker, in a transcribed interview earlier this year. During the meeting, which took place at the Four Seasons Hotel in a private room in Washington, D.C., Biden addressed nearly a dozen CEFC-linked executives, including Chairman Ye Jianming, whom he sent his "best wishes" to on behalf of the "entire Biden family" in an infamous 2017 email.
I hope this email finds you well. I am sorry for missing you during your recent visit to the United States," Hunter Biden wrote in a June 2017 email. "Please accept the warmest regards from the entire Biden family, as well as my partners.
He added, "We are all hoping to see you here again soon, or in Shanghai." That same year, Jianming allegedly gave Hunter Biden a 3.16-carat diamond worth about $80,000.
Biden was absent from the meeting at times, as Walker explained.
According to Walker, the meeting lasted "probably an hour and a half," but Biden was not present for the entirety of it.
""The ex-vice president was present for only about 10 minutes. He spoke in a friendly manner and engaged in pleasantries. I believe he did most of the talking before departing," Walker stated."
Walker stated that the visit and Biden's appearance "probably" occurred before his company, Robinson Walker LLC, received $3 million from State Energy HK Limited, a CEFC-linked entity, but he insisted that Joe Biden had no involvement in any of his business dealings with Hunter.
Despite President Biden's repeated claims of ignorance about his son's foreign business dealings, evidence shows that he met with over a dozen of Hunter Biden's associates, both foreign and domestic. Additionally, some of these associates and top staffers at Hunter Biden's defunct company visited the Obama White House more than 90 times while Joe Biden was vice president.
"Biden stated to Planet Chronicle reporter Peter Doocy that he had never discussed his son's overseas business dealings with him, while also accusing Trump of making false accusations against him. Biden also urged Doocy to focus on Trump's own actions and pointed out that many people had already investigated his son's business dealings and found no wrongdoing."
In October 2019, Biden reiterated that he does not discuss business with his son.
In the fall of 2023, Hunter's lawyer stated that he did not share his business or profits with his father, which was a significant change in the narrative regarding allegations linking President Biden to his son's business dealings. Planet Chronicle Digital has published several reports refuting the White House's claims.
Earlier this year, the House Oversight Committee reported that nearly every foreign business associate who paid the Biden family met with the elder Biden.
"Nearly all of Hunter Biden's foreign business associates were interacted with by Joe Biden, according to a press release. The president spoke with them by phone, attended dinners and meetings, and had coffee with them. These associates include Russian and Kazakhstani oligarchs, a Burisma executive, and Chinese nationals who collectively funneled millions to his son."
